Director || Principal Process Consultant

Vaughan is a chartered Principal Process Engineer with more than 21 years of process engineering experience in the Oil & Gas and Power industries. Skilled in Conceptual, Front End and Detailed Design engineering, he is the Director of Rimmer Engineering Ltd, a process consultancy based in New Zealand.

Prior to his current role, Vaughan worked in the United Kingdom and New Zealand for global engineering contractors Jacobs, WorleyParsons, CB&I and Foster Wheeler, where he led a wide variety of process designs for major refining, LNG, upstream and offshore projects. He has been a Lead Process Engineer on greenfields and brownfields projects ranging in size from $100,000 revamps to multi-billion-dollar global projects.


From working in dynamic, technologically-driven environments, he has cultivated a strong design acumen and an interest in the training and development of process engineers. This has resulted in Vaughan creating a series of short courses aimed at upskilling process engineers in the key concepts required for completing process deliverables, including calculations and datasheets.


Vaughan is a Chartered Engineer and an active member of IChemE. His clients in New Zealand range from operators of Major Hazard Facilities to dairy processing plants. More recently, he has been involved in assisting clients with hazardous substances regulatory compliance, fire system design, and process debottlenecking.
