Samantha qualified with a Bachelor of Arts and Law from the University of Auckland in 1998. She was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in January 2000. She specialised in contentious construction work and commercial litigation at Kensington Swan, a leading New Zealand law firm before moving to the UK where she was admitted as Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales.
Samantha worked in the Construction and Engineering Group at Davies Arnold Cooper’s London office, where she specialised in a variety of domestic and international construction disputes, including an ICSID arbitration concerning jurisdictional issues pursuant to a Bilateral Investment Treaty with the Government of Jordan. In August 2005 she joined Fenwick Elliott, the largest construction & energy law firm in the UK, where she advised on a wide range of projects including the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan crude oil pipeline project. Samantha completed her MA (With Distinction) at Bath Spa University, England in 2008.
She returned to New Zealand in 2012 and worked as an independent consultant to NZ Steel Limited, before commencing practice as a Barrister in March 2013, specialising in Construction and Energy Law. Samantha joined Rimmer Engineering Limited as a Co-Director and Business Development Manager in 2018. Her focus is on driving strategic marketing, business development and delivering client development-related training.
