MALCOLM BEAUMONT
Consultant || Specialist Engineer
Malcolm brings world-class technical expertise in Oil and Gas projects to Rimmer Engineering in his role as a Consultant || Specialist Engineer. He has over 40 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and is highly regarded for his technical and management skills in all aspects of process and front-end concept engineering, including integration with subsurface, wells and commercial disciplines.
He has had an extensive and varied career at Shell and related companies such as Woodside. He was previously Shell’s Worldwide Principal Technical Expert for Gas Processing. In recent years, he worked at Shell New Zealand as the Front-End Discipline Lead and Technical Authority (TA1) for Process Engineering, encompassing Shell in Australia and New Zealand.
Malcolm is well known for his expertise in gas processing, LNG and NGL recovery and integrated gas production systems (such as reservoir to wells, flowlines/pipelines, facilities). He has written and presented several technical papers, both within the Shell Group, as well as externally (including Gas Processors Association, NZ Petroleum and LPG Conferences).
Adept at plant operations and asset management, Malcolm was Technical Integration Manager for Shell’s flagship Prelude FLNG Project. This was a key role where Malcolm ensured seamless delivery across all the individual elements of the project. He also successfully managed the operations process engineering team in his role as Prelude Production System Manager.
